The World’s Flattest In-Ear Monitor.

Objective Neutrality

The CrinEar Reference is a purpose-built in-ear monitor engineered to achieve extreme tonal accuracy. Developed through bleeding-edge acoustic research, the Reference is designed to be the world’s flattest-measuring IEMs available*, prioritizing transparency, linearity, and repeatable accuracy.

*Based on adherence to population-averaged diffuse field response (JM-1) with a -1dB/octave tilt, measured on ITU-T P.57 Type 4.3 standard equipment

Perceptual Flatness

While the Reference is engineered to achieve objective neutrality on paper, its tuning is further refined to deliver true perceptual flatness. Recognising the inherent differences between in-ear listening and far-field speaker systems, a subtle ~2 dB low-frequency lift is applied to restore a sense of physicality often associated with high-end studio monitors in treated rooms.

This careful adjustment bridges the gap between measurement accuracy and real-world listening, ensuring the Reference not only measures flat; but sounds naturally balanced and lifelike in practice.

Tuned for the studio

Built for the stage

The CrinEar Reference is engineered as a true monitoring tool, delivering realistic, true-to-source playback for critical listening and mix evaluation.

Providing reliable tonal balance, precise midrange clarity, and controlled low-frequency response, the Reference aims to be your portable studio monitor, allowing mixes to translate with confidence beyond any room.

HODWS architecture

Bass frequencies are handled by a custom-built system utilising twin 10mm dynamic drivers, arranged in a horizontally-opposed configuration. This Horizontally-Opposed Dual Woofer System (HODWS) allows the two woofers to share their mechanical load, resulting in:

  • Reduced stress in each diaphragm

  • Improved bass linearity and control

  • Improved power efficiency

  • Stronger and tighter bass response

Ultimately ensuring realistic bass response out of a flat tuning. Because “flat bass” shouldn’t mean “no bass”.

Sonion & Knowles Ba Drivers

Midrange and high frequencies are reproduced by a carefully-constructed array of twin Sonion midrange drivers and a single Knowles supertweeter. Every driver is hand-selected to achieve our stringent tuning goals, and subsequently designed with the most efficient crossover network possible.

CNC-Machined Aluminium Shell

All of the Reference’s drivers are housed in a full aluminium metal shell, precision-machined using a 5-axis CNC process. The contoured pseudo-custom geometry provides:

  • High structural rigidity to suppress enclosure resonance

  • Long-term durability capable of enduring professional use

  • Secure, comfortable fit optimized for extended sessions

Premium Modular Cable

A premium detachable cable is included, featuring an interchangeable termination system:

  • 3.5mm single-ended for universal compatibility

  • 4.4mm balanced for lower crosstalk and improved channel separation

Enjoy flexibility across portable and desktop sources, consumer and professional, without sacrificing signal quality.
